CFB: Joe Montana's son headed to Washington
Associated Press
SEATTLE — Oaks Christian High School coach Bill Redell tells The Associated Press that Washington is getting a great player in quarterback Nick Montana, the son of former NFL great Joe Montana.
Nick Montana is rated among the top quarterbacks in the class of 2010. He told Redell on Tuesday night that he gave a verbal commitment to Washington coach Steve Sarkisian.
Montana had scholarship offers from Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, Georgia and his dad's alma mater, Notre Dame, among others.
Montana says he isn't deterred by Washington's 0-12 record last season. He visited the campus last weekend with his parents.
Washington fans will get a chance to see Montana on Sept. 18 when Oaks Christian plays at Seattle-area power Skyline.
