A mom whose baby has started teething at just 3 months got lots of helpful advice from other moms who talk story in the discussion forums at http://Hawaii.MomsLikeMe.com.
The mom, who goes by the screen name poikai, posted this question in the Babies & Toddlers forum at http://Hawaii.MomsLikeMe.com:
Q. Help! My 3-month-old daughter is getting teeth. She is drooling everywhere and chewing on her hands constantly. The problem is she often gets frustrated and a little fussy because none of the traditional teething methods help. Her mouth is too small for teething rings, and she can't hold them anyway. She doesn't eat yet, so I can't give her teething biscuits. ... Does anyone have any tricks?
Among the many responses, along with the screen names of the moms who provided them:
• My (son) was teething that early too! ... I would just let him gnaw on my finger. And some times I would rub his gums with a cold cloth. — MamaNoa11
• (My children) liked when I gave them a frozen washcloth. Just wet, wring out and freeze. It will get nice and cold and chewy! ... Also, at Target they carry the natural soothing drops made from chamomile. — wahinekehau
• Maybe use a Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder (which allows ice to be put inside a mesh receptacle) so that baby can safely suck on the chipped/ shaved ice. — Texican
