Male hit by pickup improves from critical to good condition

An 18-year-old man who was struck by a pickup truck this afternoon in Käneçohe has improved to good condition, police said.
The man was hit as he darted into the roadway on Aumoku Street at about 12:10 p.m., police said. The driver of the 1997 Toyota pickup stopped and gave aid, police said.
The victim was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition, but police said his condition has since improved.
The incident remains under investigation, although speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
