Services set for Schofield soldier
Services for Staff Sgt. Randy Suyat Agno have been set for June 12 on Oahu.
The 29-year-old from Kapaa, Kauai, died May 8 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington of a noncombat injury received in Iraq on April 27 at Forward Operating Base Olsen in Samarra, according to the Pentagon.
Agno was assigned to the 325th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks.
A 1997 graduate of Pearl City High School, Agno joined the Army in 1998 and was assigned to Hawaii in 2001.
The food specialist was named Junior Army Chef of the Year at the Army's 31st annual Culinary Arts Competition.
Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. June 12 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church; service at 10:30 a.m. Burial is at 1 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
Agno is survived by his wife, Marvelyn; sons, Jarren Lee and Jensen Jay; mother, Fe Suyat; father, Leoterio Agno; and brother, Melvin.
