Droll and understated, this pilot film drew mixed reactions when it debuted this spring. Some people (including me) thought it was a quiet delight; others just thought it was q uiet.
Amy Poehler plays an Indiana town's assistant parks-and-recreation director, optimistic despite the odds. Her boss doesn't believe in government, her intern doesn't care and the planning chief can't recall that they had a one-night stand. Give it a try.
