Big Island native Kimberly Kim already has a runner-up finish in a United States Golf Association tournament this year, so she made it known she has her eye on the prize in today's match play final of the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.

Kim, a 17-year-old who now lives in Arizona, eliminated Doris Chen, 16, of Bradenton, Fla., 5 and 4, in the semifinals yesterday and will play Amy Anderson, 17, of Oxbow, N.D., in the 36-hole final at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

"I really wouldn't want to be runner-up twice in one summer," Kim said in a story at the tournament's Web site. "That's kind of lame."

Kim lost in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links final to Jennifer Song last month. Kim also has been a U.S. Women's Open qualifier and winner of the Rolex Girls Championship this summer.

Anderson, the medalist in stroke play, defeated Luz Alejandra Cangrejo of Colombia on the 19th hole in the semifinals.

Kim ousted Jennifer Johnson, of La Quinta, Calif., 1 up, in the quarterfinals, also played yesterday.
