Kulper to serve up a final meal

Advertiser Staff

Chef Todd Dae Kulper will be serving up his last meal in the islands, for a while at least, at Café Hula Girl this Saturday.

Kulper, who has created numerous menus for restaurants such as O Asian Grill, Doraku Sushi and The French Laundry, is taking his Asian-style cuisine with a European flair to the Mainland, where he'll work as an executive chef.

But he plans one last public culinary experience before he leaves the Islands, a five-course meal for 50, with a menu including Toro Tartare with a warm ginger teriyaki, Beef Carpacio served with warm yuzu butter, ponzu and sweet tomatoes, Hawaiian Sunfish in a sake soy dressing, braised pork belly called “Toro Toro Pork” and sponge cake with strawberries and vanilla bean ice cream for dessert.

Reservations required and the meal will cost $40 per person. Reservations are a must. Call Café hula girl at 979-2299 for reservations and more information.
