Body found in Colorado identified as missing Hawaii man

Associated Press

A body found in Cache la Poudre River in Colorado has been identified as a Hawaiçi man who went missing last week when he crashed his motorcycle into the river.

The Larimer County sheriff’s office said the body is 63-year-old Dennis M. Schultz of Kailua, Kona. Schultz’s body was found Saturday about a mile downriver from where witnesses reported seeing him crash Wednesday and go under a guardrail and into the river. Crews searched until nightfall and continued searching Thursday.

The cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma, an accident.

The sheriff’s office said the motorcycle’s owner says his father had borrowed the bike Wednesday.

Sheriff spokeswoman Eloise Campanella says the river’s high water levels made the search difficult.
