The Honolulu Pride Festival 2009 kicks off Thursday with the announcement of Mr. and Ms. Gay Pride at Fusion Waikiki, and then it's all fun and games — and '80s pop-turned-reality-TV stars — from there. First, though, it's give back time with the Pride fest fundraiser event at 9 tonight at Indigo. Meet the candidates for Ms. and Mr. Gay Pride, dance, win prizes and have an all-around fabulous time for $5. Other Pride event highlights include:
• The Pride parade starts at 9 a.m. July 18 at Ala Moana Park, followed by the main festival event at McCoy Pavilion from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
