Aiea residents' water restored

'Aiea resident Rodney Sandoval filled up at a Board of Water Supply "Water Buffalo." Sandoval's home was one of 29 that lost service early yesterday morning when a water main broke. Work to repair the main shut down one lane of Moanalua Road near 'Aiea Public Library.

Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews restored the water to 29 'Aiea residents and the public library at 99-143 Moanalua Road after a water main broke early yesterday morning.

The break in an 8-inch main was reported about 2:30 yesterday morning. Water was restored at 6:30 p.m. last night to the 29 homes and the 'Aiea Public Library that were without water.
A water wagon was set up to help residents cope without water.
BWS crews attempted to restore water service at 4 p.m. yesterday, but a second leak was detected in the line.
