Banquet to honor Living Treasures
The Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii has announced its 2009 Living Treasures honorees.
The five to be celebrated: Dr. Amefil "Amy" Agbayani, Puanani Sonoda Burgess, Nalani Olds, Sister Joan Chatfield and Col. Bert Noboru Nishimura.
The banquet to honor them will be at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Sheraton Waikiki.

CATHOLIC CLASS FOR RETURN TO CHURCH
The next session of Catholics Returning Home has just begun.
The class, for Catholics looking to reconnect with the church after non-attendance, meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, 712 North School St.
It ends Feb. 26.

RABBI'S UNITY LECTURE WEBCAST
"Unity of Heart Through Unity of Purpose," a live webcast of an address by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, will be shown locally at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Ala Moana Hotel, 410 Atkinson Drive, in the Ilima Conference Room, on the second floor.
Steinsaltz is the first of four speakers to address worldwide Jewry in a series of four webcast lectures in honor of the Jewish "Year of Gathering." The Unity Lectures are a project of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute.

PEACE ACTION FOR BALKAN CHILDREN
Bambi Worst will discuss Peace Action Children's Team in the Balkans at the Interfaith Open Table, which meets on the first Wednesday of the month.
The meeting will be at 7 a.m. Feb. 4 at Harris United Methodist Church, 20 S. Vineyard Blvd. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
Peace Action Children's Team aims to empower children and young adults who have experienced violence, chaos or war to meet peers in a safe environment in Korcula.
