KAHULUI, Maui — Residents of Wailuku, Kahului and Sprecklesville will see and hear more aircraft traffic over their neighborhoods this weekend as flight patterns are adjusted to accommodate lighting and electrical work on the airfield at Kahului Airport.

The state Department of Transportation said Runway 2/20 will be closed from 12:30 to 8:30 a.m. nightly Saturday morning and Sunday morning. During those hours, there will be increased air traffic over the residential areas near the airport as flight patterns are modified.
