NHL: Julien, McLellan to coach All-Star teams

NEW YORK — Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien will be behind the Eastern Conference bench and San Jose Sharks coach Todd McLellan will guide the Western Conference squad at the NHL All-Star game in Montreal.
The All-Star game is being held at the Bell Centre on Jan. 25. The NHL announced the selections on Saturday.
Julien has led Boston to its best start since 1929-30 and an Eastern Conference-leading 64 points entering Saturday.
His first NHL All-Star coaching appearance will come in the city where he coached the Canadiens for parts of three seasons from 2003-06.
McLellan has led San Jose to its best start in franchise history as the Sharks lead the NHL with 65 points entering Saturday.
Detroit's Mike Babcock will assist McLellan, while either Bruce Boudreau of Washington or Guy Carbonneau of Montreal will assist Julien pending the result of the Capitals' game against the Canadiens on Saturday night.
