CFB: Texas Tech receiver Crabtree headed to NFL
Associated Press
DALLAS — Michael Crabtree's father says the Texas Tech receiver is going to the NFL.
His father, also named Michael Crabtree, told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal today that draft projections in the top 10 were too good to pass up. His dad says a nagging ankle problem in 2008 raised concerns about bigger injuries next season.
The receiver's father didn't immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press on Friday.
Crabtree is the two-time Biletnikoff winner as the nation's top receiver. He had 3,127 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns in two seasons with the Red Raiders.
He is eligible for the NFL draft as a redshirt sophomore because he is three years removed from high school.
