H-3 west-bound lanes shut down

The state Department of Transportation has shut down both town-bound or west-bound lanes of the H-3 Freeway due to a problem with a traffic signal in the summit tunnel.
DOT spokeswoman Tammy Mori said the signal is hanging just by a wire and was in danger of falling into one lane or the other.
The town-bound lanes were closed about 7:45 a.m.
A repair crew is on the way, and the lanes are expected to reopen between 9:17 and 9:30 a.m., Mori said.
Police cars are blcoking the on-ramps to the freeway on the windward side of Oahu, Mori said.
Motorists are being asked to use the Pali or Likelike highways until the problem is resolved.
