MacPherson chosen for MLK peacemaker award

The Rev. Neal MacPherson has been chosen to receive the 2009 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peacemaker Award.
MacPherson of Church of the Crossroads was cited for work on social issues, including affordable housing and health care, gay rights, the environment and peace. He has worked with Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE), Family Promise, Project Dana and the Interfaith Alliance. He retired in 2008.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Awards Ceremony will be held 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at Church of the Crossroads, 1212 University Ave.
