Skiing: Koivuranta wins Nordic combined WCup race

SCHONACH, Germany (AP) — Anssi Koivuranta of Finland won a Nordic combined World Cup race today, defeating Bill Demong of the United States.
Koivuranta won the ski jumping portion of the event. He captured his fourth race of the season and extended his lead in the overall standings
"It was the toughest race of my career," Koivuranta said.
Bjoern Kircheisen of Germany was third.
