KOENIGSSEE, Germany � Two-time Olympic champion Armin Zoeggler of Italy won a luge race on his birthday today to extend his overall lead in the World Cup standings.

Zoeggler finished in 1 minute, 34.458 seconds, 0.36 seconds ahead of David Moeller of Germany. Felix Loch, also of Germany, was third.

"This was the best present I could make myself," said Zoeggler, a five-time world champion who turned 35. "I have never been that strong on this course before."

Zoeggler won his second World Cup race of the season and 42nd of his career. After four races, he leads the overall standings with 355 points. Moeller is 30 points behind.
