LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A state judge has told the Jefferson County School District to give the court its internal investigation into the death of a high school football player for review.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Mitch Perry on Monday ordered the school system to turn over the report to the court.
The ruling came in a civil suit brought by the parents of 15-year-old Max Gilpin, who collapsed at Pleasure Ridge Park High School's football practice Aug. 20 and died three days later.
Perry also granted a request by Gilpin's parents to add three people, including the school's principal, to the lawsuit. Gilpin's parents previously sued head coach David Jason Stinson and five assistant coaches. Stinson has pleaded not guilty to reckless homicide in Gilpin's death.
