High surf advisory issued for all east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

The surf is building along east-facing shores across the state and the National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory.

A north-northeast swell combined with locally generated wind waves will produce advisory level surf today along east-facing shores, the weather service said.

The surf along the affected shores is expected to build to 6 to 8 feet today.

The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Elsewhere on Oahu today, expect surf of 7 to 12 feet along north-facing shores; 2 to 4 feet along west-facing shores; and 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores.

Outlook through Wednesday, Feb. 25: The combination of the north-northeast swell and locally generated wind waves will likely keep surf along east-facing shores above the 8-foot advisory level at least through Saturday.
