A high pressure area north of the islands will keep the trade winds blowing across the state through the first half of next week, the National Weather Service said.
A shear line is expected to dissipate across Maui and the Big Island today, forecasters said.
Behind the shear line lies a large area of stable low clouds along with a cooler air mass. These clouds will cause mainly mostly cloudy skies today.
Sunnier weather and gentler trades are on tap for part of the weekend.
