Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine aren't exactly what you'd call a class act, though they'd like you to think they are.

The Las Vegas-based entertainers are as much in the business of making people laugh as they are in the business of making music. It's show business, and Cheese and his boys are proof that there really is no business like it.

Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine, which is scheduled to perform tonight at Pipeline Cafe, is a cover band that specializes in lounge music.

That is, if a rock, pop or rap song can be converted into a kitschy lounge-style ditty, Cheese will sing it.

He's covered everything from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" to AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" and The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" to Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" and Britney Spears' "Toxic."

This year, he takes on tiki-style exotica in his latest album "Lavapalooza," scheduled to be released sometime this summer.

With seven albums under his belt and three more in the works, it's pretty clear that Cheese will be making music as long as everyone else is.

After all, there are always covers to cover. And we can think of a few that could use some Cheese.
