COSTA DO SAUIPE, Brazil — Tommy Robredo easily defeated Jose Acasuso 6-2, 6-1 to reach the Brazil Open final on Friday, avenging a loss to the Argentine just last week.
The second-seeded Robredo will meet either Frederico Gil of Portugal or Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil in Saturday's final.
Acasuso beat Robredo in the semifinals in Chile last week before finishing runner-up.
Robredo won four of his 11 break chances, and saved both by fourth-seeded Acasuso. Robredo will play his 15th ATP final and first since last July at Bastad, Sweden, where the Spaniard won his seventh career title.
