NFL: Jaguars parts ways with WR Porter, CB Florence

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jaguars have released receiver Jerry Porter and cornerback Drayton Florence after the high-priced free agents failed to play up to expectations.
The Jaguars paid $23 million for Porter and Florence to step into starting roles last year, but neither had made an impact on the field for Jacksonville (5-11).
Porter caught 11 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown after signing a six-year, $30 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed.
Florence never won a starting job after signing a six-year, $36 million deal with $11 million guaranteed.
