Weather: Sunny today, a few showers tonight

Winds out of the southeast will continue across the state today, the National Weather Service said.
Moderate trade winds will build back into the islands tomorrow as a weak weather system to the north of the islands leaves the area, forecasters said.
The trades will become strong by Friday and continue through the holiday weekend as a strong, high-pressure ridge builds to the north.

Today...Mostly sunny in the morning...then partly sunny with scattered showers and chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 76 to 82. North winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Tonight...Partly cloudy. Isolated showers in the evening. Lows 60 to 70. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Thursday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 82. Northeast winds around 10 mph shifting to the east 15 to 20 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.
