Pedestrian struck by bus in McCully

A man was critically injured last night when he was hit by a bus as he crossed Beretania Street in McCully.
Police said the man, who appeared to be in his 70s, was struck by a Roberts Hawaii bus about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Beretania and McCully streets. The victim was in a crosswalk and was headed mauka when he was hit by the bus, which was making a left turn from McCully onto Beretania.
The man suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
CRASH VICTIM WAS WAI'ANAE MAN
The driver of a stolen truck who died after crashing the vehicle Thursday has been identified as Kaulana Nordin of Wai'anae.
Police said Nordin was driving a 1995 Nissan pickup truck on Hakimo Road when he lost control of the vehicle about 7:20 a.m. The truck hit a fire hydrant, a utility pole guy wire and rock wall before coming to a stop in the middle of the road.
Nordin was taken to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he was pronounced dead. A 41-year-old male passenger was taken to that hospital in critical condition, but was upgraded to serious condition.
