Flamenco heat with global flavor

Gypsy-jazz blends with a flamenco beat tonight at the Atherton Studio for Performing Arts when Cerro Negro brings flamenco dancer Nikki Conti on stage for this leg of the trio's "Bringing it Home" tour.
Cerro Negro — Frank Giordano on guitar and piano, Dusty Brough on guitar and bass, and John Martin III on percussion and vocals — have added Balkan, Django Jazz, Turkish and Peruvian influences to their passionate rhythms since their last Hawai'i tour.
The Atherton Studio is at 738 Kaheka St. Tickets for the 7:30 show are $25 general, $20 for Hawaii Public Radio members and $15 for students. Call 955-8821 for reservations or visit www.cerronegro.net to find out about other Hawai'i appearances.i
