The festival benefits Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai�i.
Earlier this year, after five consecutive years of festivals, the Kokua Foundation, which organizes the event, decided to take a break, The festival features pop singer and North Shore resident Jack Johnson as its headliner and other performers, both local and national. In 2008, the festival�s Waikiki Shell shows on April 19 and 20 reportedly sold out in 20 minutes.
