Seven hundred lucky people have an opportunity to get their hands on a Christmas tree today with a little more than a week left till Christmas. A new shipment of Christmas trees has arrived at Richard Tajiri Christmas Hawaii at Ala Moana Center. Sales will begin at 3 p.m. though people are already waiting in line.

On O'ahu, vendors began running out of Christmas trees last week.
The shortage is said to stem from vendors ordering conservatively and state Department of Agriculture inspectors turning back seven containers of the evergreens because of pests.
