The Crommelin, a guided-missile frigate, is commanded by Cmdr. Kevin Parker and has a crew of 220, including a helicopter detachment based in Kaneohe. The Coast Guard recently awarded the crew special operations ribbons for its work to help monitor illegal fishing in the Western Pacific.
On its deployment, the O’Kane joined the USS George Washington carrier strike group and conducted operations in the Yellow Sea. The O’Kane has a crew of 270 and is commanded by Cmdr. Timothy Steadman.
