Vikings' Berrian cited for speeding

OAKDALE, Minn. — Minnesota authorities say Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian has been cited for driving 104 mph in a 60-mph zone, days after police clocked teammate Adrian Peterson going 109 mph in a 55-mph area.
Minnesota State Patrol Capt. Matt Langer said yesterday that Berrian was cited for speeding on I-694 in Oakdale about 9:40 p.m. Monday.
A man who answered the cell phone of Berrian's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Associated Press yesterday that Rosenhaus wasn't immediately available to comment.
Peterson could lose his license after he was caught speeding Nov. 28.
PACKERS
LB LEAVES HOSPITAL
Green Bay announced yesterday that linebacker Jeremy Thompson was released from the hospital. He had been hospitalized after spraining his neck near the end of Friday's practice.
Thompson didn't lose consciousness or suffer any paralysis, and coach Mike McCarthy expects him to make a full recovery. He won't play tomorrow against Baltimore, and his prognosis for playing again this season hasn't been determined.
Tackle Chad Clifton is likely to play against the Ravens after being listed as probable with a hamstring injury. Clifton has had limited work since being injured against Detroit on Nov. 26.
SAINTS
DEFENSE WEAKENED
New Orleans will be missing four defensive players for its game against the Washington Redskins today.
The Saints said yesterday that linebackers Marvin Mitchell and Scott Fujita, and cornerbacks Randall Gay and Jabari Greer will not play.
Mitchell and Gay have hamstring injuries, Greer has a hurt groin and Fujita is sidelined with a knee injury.
