EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Injured New Jersey Nets forward Yi Jianlian has more to worry about than a sprained right knee.
The team announced on Sunday that the Yi cut his lip while playing 3-on-3 after practice on Saturday and needed 50 stitches to close the wound that was caused by an inadvertent elbow. The Chinese Olympian will be evaluated on Monday.
Yi has been sidelined since injuring his knee in a game against Charlotte early last month.
