Hard Rock to hold benefit concerts

Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu and Hard Rock Cafe Maui will team up on Dec. 11 to a host live benefit concerts to help feed children worldwide, with proceeds benefiting WHY (World Hunger Year), a nonprofit organization that is working to end hunger and poverty in America and around the world.
These events are a part of Hard Rock International’s 2009 worldwide IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER campaign, which hopes to raise awareness for child hunger and poverty through the sale of the benefit compilation digital album SERVE4 and IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER limited-edition pins and bracelets.
In Honolulu, the event will start at 9:30 p.m. at the cafe, 1837 Kapiolani Blvd. Three local rock bands will be featured: Dewing Time, Stillborn Skies and Friends of Adam.
Tickets are $1 in advance or $5 at the door the day of event. Non-perishable item will be collected for the Hawaii Food Bank.
The Maui event, which begins at 10 p.m., will feature Mickey Avalon and Andre Nickatina. Tickets are $35 in advance/$40 at the door. For ticket information, visit www.ticketweb.com.
