Boy, 17, reports being robbed in Waikiki
A 33-year-old Kaneohe man was arrested in Waikiki yesterday after a 17-year-old boy told police the man robbed him of his cigarettes and wallet.
The boy said he was walking along a sidewalk when the man grabbed him by the front of his jacket and demanded cigarettes and money.
He said he turned over the cigarettes and wallet out of fear of being injured by the man.
Police said the boy was able to run away and tell his father what happened.
Officers were sent to the area and arrested the suspect nearby on Niu Street about 4:45 p.m. on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
