The Queen Lili‘uokalani Children’s Center and Queen Lili‘uokalani Trust will commemorate the 171st anniversary of Queen Lili‘uokalani’s birth.

The 28th annual “A Matter of Maoli” is scheduled for Tuesday at the Children’s Center,1300 Halona St. The art exhibit opens at 6 p.m. with readings beginning at 7 p.m. The readings feature the middle and high school, short story and overall honorable mention winners of the 3rd Annual Na Leo O Na Pua writing competition. Refreshments follow.

A tribute on Wednesday will be held on the grounds of the Royal Mausoleum at 9:45 a.m. Parking will be at the Tenri Cultural Center across from the Nu‘uanu Cemetery on Nu‘uanu Avenue. The public is welcome.
