Beach boot camp shaping up again

The Hawai'i's Smallest Winner Boot Camp is starting up again, strictly for those who weigh 200-plus pounds and are ready to commit to eating better, losing weight (and inches) and getting fit. Trainer Megan Clark runs the camp at Ala Moana Beach Park. It's a commitment for three nights a week for 12 weeks: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It includes nutritional counseling and sessions with a life coach. There's an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. today (meet at the bathrooms 'ewa of the Magic Island parking lot). KAPOLEI LIBRARY FESTIVITIES

MAGIC, OKINAWAN DANCES AND STRING QUARTET

Kapolei Public Library starts a weeklong celebration of its fifth anniversary today, featuring crafts, a magic show, Okinawan dances, chamber music, free movie rentals and a book sale.

• Teens can make a beaded "book thong" at several sessions (all materials provided): 2-5 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday; 2-8 p.m. tomorrow and Wednesday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

• Balloon Monsoon does a magic show at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.

• "Dances of Okinawa" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday will feature dance, music and song.

• Chamber Music Hawaii's Spring Wind Quintet will perform at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

• Free DVD borrowing will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, as long as you have an active state library card.

• The book sale will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday on the lawn.
