SAN ANTONIO —Dallas Cowboys cornerback Michael Jenkins has been carted off the practice field with an injury to his lower right leg.

Jenkins was hurt during a light workout on Saturday. There was no immediate word about the severity of the injury.

Jenkins, a first-round pick last year, started three games as a rookie. He is part of the only training-camp competition for a starting job, going against fellow second-year player Orlando Scandrick.
