Autopsy shows crash did not kill Kurtistown man, 26
Big Island police said an autopsy has determined that a medical condition caused the death of a man involved in a single-vehicle crash May 13.
Christopher S. Bortz, 26, of Kurtistown, died after crashing his car in the Hawaiian Acres subdivision.
Because Bortz's death was not the result of injuries suffered in the crash, police have reduced the count of traffic fatalities on the Big Island this year from 14 to 13.
