Better Business Bureau to present Torch Awards
Hawaii's Better Business Bureau will honor outstanding businesses Wednesday at the 2009 Torch Awards.
The award aims to "promote trust in the marketplace by recognizing local businesses, charities, and individuals for their outstanding commitment to fair, honest, and ethical marketplace practices," according to a news release from the Better Business Bureau. Recipients will be chosen from finalists in four categories.
2009 BBB Torch Awards finalists:
Small Business Category (less then 50 employees): Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, Hawaii Self Storage, ING Direct and Surfing Goat Dairy
Medium-Sized Business Category (50 –99 employees): Coastal Windows, Honolulu Ford and Inspiration Interiors
Large Business Category (100 or more employees): AIG Hawaii, Atlas Insurance Agency and Crazy Shirts
Nonprofit Public Charity: Aloha United Way, Kahala Nui and Lupus Hawaii
The awards luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom.
