Hawaii Pacific University won the AAF-Hawaii advertising competition today and will compete in the American Advertising Federation's national competition in Washington, D.C. in June.
Five students and their advisor, HPU faculty member Katherine Clarke, will go to the national competition. The HPU team, which competed against a team from Chaminade University, presented a proposed campaign to curb binge drinking among college students for The Century Council, a nonprofit organization funded by distillers that seeks to reduce drunken driving and underage drinking.
"We all worked hard and no matter what happens on June 4 and 5, we had fun," said HPU student KC Frahm. "We all look forward to the competition."
HPU will compete against five other teams in Washington.
