NBA: Saunders to be unveiled Thursday as Wizards coach

WASHINGTON — Flip Saunders will be formally introduced as the new coach of the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
The Wizards confirmed Wednesday that Saunders signed his contract late Tuesday night. The deal is worth $18 million over four years.
The former Minnesota and Detroit coach agreed to take the job last week, before the Wizards completed a 19-63 season that matched the franchise's worst record over 82 games.
Saunders succeeds interim coach Ed Tapscott, who finished the season when Eddie Jordan was fired after a 1-10 start.
