NFL: Chiefs sign tight end Sean Ryan

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs have signed unrestricted tight end Sean Ryan, a five-year veteran who most recently played for San Francisco.
Ryan, 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, has played in 43 games with seven starts. He started his career in 2004 in Dallas before moving on to the New York Jets in 2006. He played in Miami, New Orleans and San Francisco last year.
The fifth-round draft pick has caught 12 passes for 105 yards in his career and played in one playoff game for the Jets in 2006.
Terms of the deal announced Tuesday were not disclosed.
The team also announced it had waived tackle Andrew Carnahan, linebacker Curtis Gatewood and wide receiver Kevin Robinson.
