UH volleyball: Senior citizens, UH alumni get ticket discount; students free

Advertiser Staff

Senior citizens (65 years and older) and University of Hawaii Alumni Association members will receive 50 percent off adult tickets (maximum of eight) to today's men's volleyball finale, which will signal the end of Mike Wilton's career as coach.

UH plays USC 7 p.m. at Stan Sheriff Center.

Wilton is retiring from UH after 17 seasons.

Senior citizens will need to show a valid identification card and UHAA members a Alumni Association membership card when purchasing tickets at Stan Sheriff Center Box Office.

Tickets are in special sections and supplies are limited. Other restrictions may apply. UH Students receive a free ticket to men's volleyball by showing their valid ID at the ticket office.

GIVEAWAYS AND PROMOTIONS

The match sponsor Friday is Jack In The Box and the first 2,000 fans to enter the arena will receive a Jack In The Box cut-out magnet.

The match sponsor on Saturday is Pepsi. At the start of the second game, fans can purchase a 32 oz. Pepsi for the price of a 20 oz. Pepsi until the beginning of the third game. This includes the 10-minute break after the second game.

SPECIAL CEREMONIES

UH will honor three men's volleyball seniors, Sean Carney, Jim Clar and Michael China, following the match on Saturday. In between sets two and three, UH will hold its Senior Salute, honoring seniors from men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, sailing, track and field, water polo and cheerleading.

UH will also honor Wilton. During game two timeouts, there will be special presentations to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of UH men's volleyball.
