It may not be the Kalahari, and they may not be members of the Lazuli or Whiskers clans, but they are meerkats — and for most people that's more than enough.

Honolulu Zoo has completed renovation of its meerkat exhibit, which is now open to the public, the mayor's office announced today.

The zoo has six way-cute male meerkats, all purchased from the Gladys Porter zoo in Texas. Four of the animals are nearly five years old, and the other two are a year old.

The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Admission is $8 ($4 for kamaaina).
