Fire displaces two Makiki residents

Two Makiki residents are seeking temporary shelter tonight after a fire displaced them from their Heulu Street home.

The fire started around 8:50 p.m. and Honolulu Fire Department personnel were able to extinguish it within two minutes of their arrival, according to HFD spokesperson Capt. Robert Main.

The two female occupants were not harmed. They are receiving shelter assistance from the American Red Cross. Damage estimates have not yet been determined.
