The University of Hawa'i at Manoa is one of five universities that have established partnerships with the Department of Veterans Administration for VA Nursing Academies.

The program expands learning opportunities for nursing students at VA facilities, funds faculty development and funds expansion of nursing faculty.

The VA Nursing Academy program began in 2007 and already has 10 partnerships.
