NFL: DE Bowen re-signs with Cowboys for 1-year deal
Associated Press
IRVING, Texas — Dallas has re-signed defensive end Stephen Bowen for the upcoming season, leaving the Cowboys with two restricted free agents without contracts.
Bowen signed a one-year, $1.54 million deal Monday similar to what offensive lineman Cory Procter received last week.
Bowen posted a career-high 28 tackles last season, with two tackles for loss and nine quarterback pressures.
He joined the club as an undrafted free agent in 2006, making the practice squad before moving up to the active roster that November. He has played in 34 games over three seasons.
Receivers Miles Austin and Sam Hurd, both of whom are expected to help replace Terrell Owens, are the remaining unsigned free agents.
