No. 1 Oklahoma (32-4) vs. No. 3 Louisville (33-4)
Tip-off: Sunday, 1 p.m. Hawaii time, ESPN
Coaches: Sherri Coale (Oklahoma), Jeff Walz (Louisville).
Overview: The Cardinals, ninth nationally in three-point defense, shut down Maryland's potent perimeter game, but the Sooners present a more sizable challenge in the middle with the Paris twins (6-4 and 6-3). The lower the score, the more that favors Louisville and not Oklahoma, which has the nation's No. 11 offense.
Difference-makers: Oklahoma -- C Courtney Paris (15.9 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 56.5 FG%), F Ashley Paris (12.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 52.1 FG%), G Danielle Robinson (13.1 ppg, 5.8 apg). Louisville -- F Angel McCoughtry (23.2 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 4.2 spg), F Candyce Bingham (12.5 ppg, 7.3 rpg), G Desere Byrd (7.8 ppg, 40.8 3FG%).
Stattitude: In three of its four losses, Oklahoma allowed 49%, 64% and 57% shooting in the second half.
No. 1 Connecticut (37-0) vs. No. 2 Stanford (33-4)
Tip-off: Sunday, 3:30 p.m. Hawaii time, ESPN
Coaches: Geno Auriemma (UConn), Tara VanDerveer (Stanford).
Overview: Rematch of last year's semifinal, won 82-73 by Stanford. UConn won the 2008 regular-season matchup before losing two players to knee injuries. Stanford's strength is deep post play. Give UConn the backcourt edge. Both teams pass well and defend well. UConn has won every game this season by double digits.
Difference-makers: UConn -- F Maya Moore (19.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 40.7 3FG%); G Renee Montgomery (16.2 ppg, 5.1 apg); C Tina Charles (16.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 61.4 FG%). Stanford -- F-C Jayne Appel (15.9 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 60.6 FG%); F Nneka Ogwumike (10.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 63.0 FG%); G Jeanette Pohlen (10.9 ppg, 4.7 apg, 38.2 3FG%).
Stattitude: Stanford's 67.7% free throw shooting could be a liability in a tight game.
