Police yesterday located a Canadian woman visitor reported missing Wednesday night after she told a co-worker she had been involved in an accident.

But two other missing person cases on O'ahu remain unresolved.

Donatella Halkier, 52, a frequent Hawai'i visitor, called a co-worker at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday and mentioned the accident, which police could not confirm. Halkier was located last night after a missing-persons bulletin was issued by police.

Meanwhile, the hunt for Jon Parsons, 77, a retired builder from Bendigo in Australia's Victoria state, has been discontinued.

Parsons was last seen Sept. 4.

Volunteers had extended the search effort through Sunday, traversing the treacherous Waimalu Ditch Trail from the upper east ridge above Onikiniki Place to the valley floor.

Parsons' two sons, two daughters and their husbands will return to Australia today after completing search efforts.

They thanked the public for the search efforts yesterday.

Volunteers will continue individual searching for Parsons, but no organized effort is planned.

Kimberly Day Jacobs, 47, a Waikiki resident who suffers from polio and walks with a limp, has been missing since Aug. 21.

Jacobs is 5 feet 4 and 130 pounds.
