A 46-year-old man was charged yesterday with allegedly stealing $300 worth of lipstick on Wednesday from a Waikiki retail store.

Harry L. Hanawahine, who gave no permanent local address at booking, was charged with second-degree theft. He has 40 prior criminal convictions.

Hanawahine was was arrested at 3:15 p.m. yesterday at 2370 Kuhio Ave. after loss prevention officers from the retail store allegedly saw him place 35 boxes of Magic Kiss lipstick into a bag and leave the store without paying for the items.
